Much has been said about Sigma’s new cinema lenses – both good and bad. Particularly their high speed zooms, the 18-35 T2 and 50-100 T2. Sigma recently loaned me a pair of the zooms and so I took the opportunity to get to the bottom of things.
Another year, another trip down to London for the BSC Expo. It’s easily the best trade show in the UK for Cinematographers – unlike others, there’s no sound, editing or broadcast stuff – it’s all cameras, lenses, lighting and grip!
The British Society of Cinematographers held it’s annual Expo at the Battersea Evolution Centre in London this weekend just gone. The Expo is a great opportunity to see new products being showcased and to catch up with colleagues and acquaintances.
Often, cinema zooms cost more than the camera they’re mounted to. This year however, there’s been a sudden wave of budget cinema zooms introduced, aimed at the owner/operator market and priced accordingly.
